Hydrogen Peroxide Viscosity

A controlled reduction of the viscosity of a cellulose ether is achieved by blending an essentially dry, freefowing particulate cellulose ether with a predetermined amount of hydrogen peroxide, heating the blended cellulose ether at about 50150co react substantially all the added hydrogen peroxide, and recovering a lower viscosity, particulate cellulose ether having an intrinsic fluidity.
